January 23, 2026 – Redmond, Washington. An 11-year-old child was bitten by a dog near Cascara Park in Redmond on the evening of Friday, raising concerns among local families about pet safety and leash enforcement in the area.
As per the post shared in the Redmond Ridge Local Facebook group, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. while the child was near the park.
The parents stated that their son was bitten by a small to medium-sized brown dog.
The dog’s name was believed to sound like “Emmanuel,” though the family said they were not completely certain.
The owner was described as a teenage boy of Indian descent, approximately 170 centimeters tall, wearing a dark blue hoodie at the time.
The family said their main concern is confirming whether the dog is vaccinated.

They emphasized that they are seeking information for health and safety reasons, not to place blame. The parent wrote,
My son, 11 years old Asian, got bit by a small to medium sized brown dog near Cascara Park today (around 1/23/2026 5 pm). The dog’s name sounds like Emmanuel and the owner was a Indian teenage boy wearing a dark blue hoodie. The owner’s hight is around 170cm.Please let us know if this sounds like your dog. We want to know if its vaccinated..
Gabriela Leahy, a local parent, commented on the post, urging further action. She wrote,
I am so sorry! Could you please submit a complaint to the HOA? My sons play around Cascara all the time, and there are some very irresponsible dog owners who leave their dogs off leash. Please report this so people start being more responsible with their pets.
Some residents encouraged the family to document the incident and notify appropriate authorities to help prevent similar situations in the future.
While the family has not publicly shared details about the extent of the injury, community members reminded them that a medical evaluation is important after a dog bite, even if the wound appears minor.
As of now, there has been no public update indicating that the dog or the owner has been identified.
