Hallcon Breaks Ground on Washington’s Largest 24/7 EV Fleet Charging Facility in Redmond

July 22, 2025 — Redmond, Wash. Hallcon Corporation, a clean energy services provider, broke ground on the Electric Vehicle Operations Center (EVOC), Washington’s largest 24/7 EV fleet charging facility, at 8660 Willows Rd NE.

The nearly four-acre site features 60 high-capacity charging ports powered by over 5 megawatts of energy, capable of more than 300 daily charges for vehicles, including motorcoaches and shuttles, along with 1.5 megawatts of backup power.

The groundbreaking ceremony drew local leaders, including Redmond Mayor Angela Birney, Washington State Sen. Vandana Slatter, Washington State Commerce Director Joe Nguyễn, and representatives from Puget Sound Energy. The event highlighted the facility’s role in advancing sustainable transportation in the Puget Sound region.

Once operational in late 2025, the EVOC is projected to eliminate over 25,000 tons of carbon emissions annually—equivalent to removing thousands of cars from local roads—and create nearly 50 green jobs, according to Hallcon announcements. The phased construction aligns with client needs and includes Charging-as-a-Service, EVOne® analytics, and command center services for fleet operators.

“As part of Hallcon’s 2017 vision for sustainable transportation, we are thrilled to break ground on our newest EV Operations Center in Redmond,” said John R. Stoiber, Hallcon President & CEO. “With its world-class charging capacity and fleet electrification capabilities, we aim to position Redmond and the state of Washington as a hub for sustainable transportation and forward-thinking mobility.”

Mayor Birney noted the project’s alignment with the city’s sustainability goals:

“Our Economic Development Strategic Plan, which was adopted last year, outlines goals to attract companies that align with our commitment to sustainability,” Birney said. “Hallcon is doing impressive work in this area, and we are grateful to see an EV charging facility of this caliber choosing to call Redmond home.”

Sen. Slatter emphasized climate benefits:

“Supporting electrification and clean mobility is essential to achieving Washington’s ambitious climate goals. Hallcon’s leadership exemplifies what can be accomplished when private investment aligns with public purpose,” she said.

Puget Sound Energy’s Aaron August also praised the partnership:

“Partnering with Hallcon on their EV Operations Center exemplifies our dedication to working with our customers to accelerate sustainable transportation.”

Local media, including KIRO 7 and MyNorthwest.com, covered the event, underscoring its significance for regional clean energy infrastructure. Hallcon operates similar EVOCs in San Jose and Fremont, California.
