Redmond Police Release 2025 Year-End Activity Snapshot Showing Crime Decline and Increased Calls

Jan. 8, 2026 — Redmond, Wash. The Redmond Police Department released its “2025 Year-End Snapshot | Police Activity” on Thursday, highlighting 24,567 calls for service—up 8% from 22,750 in 2024—1,456 arrests, down 5% from 1,532 the prior year, and an overall crime rate reduction of 7% compared to 2024.

Key crime statistics include property crimes at 1,234 incidents, down 3% from 1,272 in 2024, with breakdowns of 312 burglaries, 678 thefts, and 244 vandalism cases; violent crimes at 189 incidents, down 10% from 210; and shoplifting at 89 incidents, down 18% from 108. Traffic stops rose 12% to 3,892, and community events attended increased 20% to 156.

Additional highlights feature 342 mental health calls handled by the Crisis Intervention Team, up 22%, with 85% diverted from arrest; 1,200 students engaged in youth safety workshops, up 30%; average response time improved to 6.2 minutes from 7.1; use-of-force incidents dropped 20% to 12, with zero excessive force complaints upheld; and officer training hours up 25% to 4,560.

The snapshot notes 2025 as the safest year since 2022, with a 15% drop in major crimes from 2023.
