Redmond to Host Andy Parker Legacy Celebration with Golf Tournament and Tribute Events in May

Show up if possible!

Jan. 26, 2026 — Redmond, Ore — After four years fighting incurable cancer, longtime fire-service figure Andy Parker will be honored this spring with a weekend of events in Redmond billed as a living legacy celebration.

The Andy Parker Legacy Celebration runs May 17–19 at Juniper Golf Course, 1938 SW Elkhorn Ave.

Organizers with the Fire Dogs Appreciation Society said the weekend will include a warm-up round on May 17, a community gathering on Sunday, May 18, from 2 to 7 p.m., and the “Same But Different” Golf Invitational on Monday, May 19.

Parker is expected to attend the events in person.

Those who want to join are asked to RSVP by April 14 by emailing “4debparker@gmail.com.”

Organizers set an earlier deadline of March 9 for anyone who wishes to submit photos or written tributes to be included during the weekend.

The golf tournament carries a $75-per-person entry fee; to register, contact John Holcomb at “jfholcomb@bendbroadband.com” by April 14.

The organizers are calling the weekend a celebration of life with a twist, focused on gratitude, memories, and time together rather than a memorial alone.

Event materials describe the gathering as a chance for friends, teammates, and community members to share stories, bring photos, and reconnect.

Because a large sports event in nearby Bend is scheduled for May 16, organizers urge out-of-town guests to book hotel rooms in Redmond as soon as possible.

The early bookings are intended to ensure attendees can find lodging close to the course and the Sunday gathering.

Logistics and planning are being handled by the Fire Dogs Appreciation Society with support from local partners and the U.S. Hotshots Association.

The group asked attendees to follow RSVP deadlines so organizers can arrange seating, tributes, and T-shirt orders and finalize tournament pairings.
