Feb. 3, 2026 – Everett, Wash. Officers from the Redmond Police Department recently participated in a regional motorcycle training program alongside Everett Police Department officers, as part of a broader effort to improve traffic safety and reduce serious crashes across the region.
According to the Everett Police Department, two new motor officers were added to its Traffic Safety Unit after completing a specialized motor school hosted by the Bellevue Police Department.
The training brought together officers from multiple agencies, including Redmond, WA Police, Mount Vernon Police Department, Mill Creek Police Department, Fife Police Department, Bellevue Police Department, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, and the King County Sheriff’s Office, which includes Sammamish, SeaTac, and Maple Valley police departments.
The joint training focused on advanced motorcycle operation, traffic enforcement strategies, and coordinated safety practices.
Everett Police said the addition of trained motor officers supports Vision Zero Everett, the city’s plan aimed at eliminating traffic-related deaths and serious injuries.
Police departments involved in the training emphasized that motor officers play a key role in addressing common traffic safety issues such as speeding, distracted driving, and failure to yield. Officers also engage with the public during routine patrols to educate drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists about traffic laws.
Everett Police stated that the regional collaboration reflects a shared goal among participating agencies to reduce preventable crashes and improve road safety for all users, including drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit riders.
