Feb. 5, 2026, Redmond, The Redmond boys basketball community is buzzing after the program honored Todd Rubin as Coach of the Year and recognized three players with postseason honors, posts on the team’s official fan page show.
“Join the entire Redmond program in congratulating Coach Todd Rubin as Coach of the Year, we are so proud of him and grateful for all that he gives to the program, thank you, Coach, go Stangs,” the fan page, run by the Boys Basketball Booster Club, posted.
Support from families and fans arrived quickly. Michele Kennedy Ngo wrote, “Congratulations Todd,” Nicole Bloy Showalter added, “Congratulations Todd,” and Mike Brandt posted, “Congratulations Coach!!”
Todd Rubin also won the 23-24 KingCo Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year.
Other comments included “Great work Todd,” from Ricky Roble, “Congratulations, Todd!!” from Megan Juan, and “Way to go! Well deserved,” from Diane Lawrenz.
The booster club also highlighted player recognitions heading into the playoffs. Junior Matthew Grabarski earned Second Team honors, the post said, with the program noting expectations for him in the postseason and next season.
Senior Drew Prinos Grumbach was also named Second Team, and the page pointed out his dual sport contributions as a standout soccer player.
Cooper Kunz received an Honorable Mention, with the club encouraging fans to watch for his impact in the upcoming games.
