February 6, 2026 – Redmond, Washington. Redmond is set to light up the courts this March as the City of Redmond Parks & Recreation Department hosts its first-ever Glow in the Dark Pickleball Tournament at the Old Redmond School House Community Center.
The special event will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Designed for adult players ages 16 and older, the tournament invites participants to grab a partner, dress in their best glow-in-the-dark outfits, and compete for the title of Redmond’s first Glow in the Dark Pickleball champions.
With glowing decor, illuminated gearm, and a lively environment, the event promises a fun and energetic twist on one of the city’s fastest-growing sports.
The tournament will be held inside the gymnasium at the Old Redmond School House, located at 16600 Northeast 80th Street in Redmond.
Only 16 teams will be accepted, with one person registering per team of two players.
As of the latest update, limited sports remain available, making early registration essential for those interested in participating.
The competition is best suited for players with skill ratings between 3.0 and 4.5, ensuring balanced and competitive matches.
Players in the 3.0-3.5 range are those who understand the fundamentals of the game, can sustain rallies, and are developing more advanced techniques.
Players rated 3.5-4.0 typically demonstrate consistent strokes, ball control, and growing strategic awareness.
Those in the 4.0-4.5 range bring strong footwork, shot variation, and advanced gameplay strategies to the court.
Participants are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time for check-in, which will take place in the hallway outside the gymnasium.
Additional tournament details, including schedules and rules, will be emailed to registered teams on Monday, March 9.
Official gameplay guidelines will follow USA Pickleball rules, which are available through the City of Redmond’s sports information resources.
Registration fees range from $35 to $42 per team, with taxes waived. The City of Redmond also offers a clear refund and transfer policy.
Cancellations made at least seven days before the event receive a full refund minus a 10 percent processing fee.
Requests made within seven days of the event are eligible for a 50 percent refund or credit transfer, but cancellations made less than three business days before the tournament are not eligible for refunds.
Exceptions may be made in cases of illness.
City officials describe the tournament as a new way to combine recreation, creativity, and community engagement.
