Redmond Woman Reveals Abuse by Personal Trainer at Age 17, Two Decades Later

Feb. 10, 2026 – Redmond, Wash. A Redmond woman has come forward publicly with allegations that she was sexually abused by her former personal trainer when she was 17 years old, sharing her story in a recent Substack post that has begun circulating online.

In the post, published Feb. 6, the woman describes being groomed by a trainer who began working with her when she was 12. She alleges that at age 17, the relationship escalated into sexual abuse. The trainer was 28 at the time.

According to her account, she was a high-achieving student and dedicated athlete pursuing a college basketball scholarship.

She says the alleged abuse occurred during her junior year of high school and led to long-term emotional trauma, including depression, anxiety, substance misuse, and an eating disorder. She also states that the experience ultimately derailed her basketball ambitions.

The woman alleges that when rumors began circulating within the community, private investigators became involved.

She claims she was presented with a document and felt pressured to sign it rather than pursue charges. She says she was guided in that decision by an adult who positioned herself as support during the meeting.

Additionally, she further alleges that the trainer denied wrongdoing, told others she fabricated the story for attention, and continued working in the fitness industry. According to her post, he later opened his own gym and continues training clients.

The woman states she is not currently pursuing legal action but felt compelled to speak publicly after carrying the experience privately for two decades.

She connects her decision to broader national conversations around sexual abuse, grooming, and accountability.

In the post, she emphasizes the lasting psychological effects of abuse involving authority figures and highlights what she describes as systemic patterns in which victims are disbelieved or pressured into silence.
