Beat the Bunny 5K Brings Family Fun to Sammamish River Trail in Redmond

Feb. 10, 2026 – Redmond, Wash. The City of Redmond’s annual Beat the Bunny 5K Run and Walk is returning to the Sammamish River Trail, inviting community members of all ages to take part in a festive, family-friendly race this spring.

Hosted by Redmond Parks and Recreation, the event will begin and end at the Redmond Senior and Community Center.

Participants will follow a scenic route along the Sammamish River Trail, with the option to run, walk, hop, or simply stroll their way to the finish line.

The highlight of the event is the chance to “beat the Bunny.” Those who cross the finish line ahead of the Bunny earn a special prize, adding a playful competitive twist to the community tradition.

Organizers describe the 5K as an inclusive event designed for runners, walkers, families with children, and community members looking for an active way to celebrate the season outdoors.

Early Bunny Registration is currently open, offering participants the opportunity to secure the lowest pricing before rates increase. Community members can register online at the City of Redmond’s event page.

Beat the Bunny has become a popular annual gathering, combining fitness, fun, and community spirit along one of Redmond’s most scenic trails.
