Jan. 2026 – Redmond, Wash. The Muslim Association of Puget Sound, known as MAPS, is planning a major expansion in Redmond with the acquisition of a 146,000-square-foot campus near Microsoft’s headquarters, according to information published by the organization.
MAPS plans to acquire the former VIBE campus, a commercial property made up of three office buildings spread across 7.6 acres near the Bellevue-Redmond border. The site is located close to residential neighborhoods, Microsoft’s campus, and a future light rail station.
According to MAPS, the new campus will be nearly three times larger than its current Redmond facility and is intended to serve as a full-service Islamic center.
Plans include space for religious services, education, community programs, and other uses. Portions of the property may also be leased for community-focused offices and services.
MAPS stated that the purchase is being completed through Islamic financing in partnership with a national bank, with ownership expected to transfer in April 2025. Some existing tenants are expected to remain on the property through 2027.
Renovation and conversion work is planned to begin after current leases expire, with construction expected to take at least 18 months. MAPS projects that a full transition to the new campus could take place in early 2028.
The organization says the expansion is aimed at meeting the growing needs of the Muslim community in the region while continuing to provide services and engagement opportunities for the broader public.
