Starbucks Workers at Redmond Town Center Sustain Unfair Labor Practice Strike with Community Pickets in January

Jan. 17, 2026 — Redmond, Wash. Starbucks Workers United members at the Redmond Town Center location (7525 166th Ave NE) are conducting an ongoing unfair labor practice strike, featuring frequent community pickets throughout January, including one today at 10:30 a.m., promoted by the Snohomish County DSA.

The strike follows six months of stalled negotiations, with workers demanding better staffing, higher pay, and resolution of hundreds of unfair labor practice charges against Starbucks, according to the Snohomish County DSA event page. Snohomish County stores have not yet joined the full strike, but the Redmond shop remains active with pickets scheduled daily at 10:30 a.m. from Jan. 1 to Jan. 31, 2026.

This local action aligns with the national “Red Cup Rebellion” strike launched by Starbucks Workers United on Nov. 13, 2025, involving over 1,000 baristas at more than 550 stores. The nationwide effort protests Starbucks’ alleged union-busting and failure to advance contract talks, echoing the same core demands for improved hours and staffing, increased wages, and ULP resolutions, per the SBWU strike page.

“We’re turning the Red Cup Season into the Red Cup Rebellion. Starbucks’ refusal to settle a fair union contract and end union busting is forcing us to take drastic action,” said Dachi Spoltore, a Pittsburgh barista on strike.

On Jan. 16, SnoCo DSA posted on X, calling supporters to join today’s picket: “SBWU members and the community are coming together to demand better working conditions from Starbucks! Join the picket at Redmond Town Center at 10:30AM and stand with workers!”
