Trevor Johnson Launches Campaign for Redmond City Council, Emphasizing Community, Inclusion, and Accountability

Trevor Johnson gears up for a City Council campaign.

Jan. 19, 2026 —Redmond, Washington. Trevor Johnson launches his campaign for Redmond City Council, announcing the move through a new public Facebook page where he shared his priorities and vision for the city.

Johnson introduced the page as a platform to share campaign updates, community engagement, and policy goals focused on equity, sustainability, and local accountability.

According to Johnson’s campaign post, his platform stands for “community first leadership,” emphasizing listening to residents and being actively involved in neighborhood concerns. He highlighted his background as a community organizer in Redmond.

Johnson also pointed to his role as a former organizer of Redmond Pride, noting that he helped the city secure its first Pride Month proclamation. He said inclusion and belonging would remain key themes throughout his campaign.

Housing affordability was listed as another top priority. Johnson said he plans to push for practical solutions that allow working families, seniors, and younger residents to remain in Redmond as costs continue to rise.

Environmental policy is also a major focus. Johnson stated he supports expanding community composting, holding large food polluters accountable, and introducing a citywide ban on single-use plastics.

Johnson further pledged strong support for immigrant communities, writing that he is committed to protecting the dignity and rights of immigrant residents.

Public transportation and government transparency were also included in his campaign pillars. Johnson said he would advocate for more accessible transit options and open decision-making within the City Council.

The Facebook page marks Johnson’s first formal public step into the local race as he begins outreach ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
